More to come

The Android-x86 2.1 merge has been completed, and there are some exciting news about what is going to happen:
1. Chih-wei is working on 1.6 R2 release. This release will include a completed support for Camcorder and 3G modem.

2. Swan is working on the merge libhgl to 2.1, after that, you will have much better graphic performance on EeePCs.

3.Wallace is very busy on fixing the 2.1 application crashes, he has almost completed the work

There are rumours about Google is cooking something to compete with ipad. So..... you may want to wait for sometime before you decide to buy a ipad.

What 3g modems will be suported. Because right now the only reasons I didn't use Android as my main os were the lack of suport for my 3g usb dongle and some sound problems. If those are resolved I'm gonna be one happy camper.
Also will the new build come in a generic_x86 flavour too?

Are there plans to implement the 2.6.34 kernel in the near future?

Proper KMS and 3D implementation will go beyond ATI and Intel.

Hey guys, I just installed your latest stable release on my 701, and I have to say, AMAZING JOB! Thanks so much for the hard work!

Hey guys,

Ran the latest build on my 1000H. Works fine, other than the obvious slowness when pulling up the menu.

Good work on the image. Very impressed. Good to see that graphic performance will improve in the new build can't wait.

:D

Great work, would love to use this on my eeepc-701/touchscreen.
Tested 1.6-r2 and 2.0 and I'm impressed... pretty cool so far.
Looking forward to see 2.1 !

This might be a stupid question:
Is it possible to run native linux applications, like firefox with flash support ? ... I fear not, because lack of libs or something, but it would be great to complement android with missing features this way.

I have a home-made tablet pc, info here: http://mothdesigns.co.uk/tablet/tablet_index.html

it has an eGalax touchscreen, which is not recognised, and I have so far failed to install a linu driver for it.
There are loads of Android tablets on the market now, at least a few of them must have the same cheap chinese touchscreen, and they are running Android 1.5- can someone help me?
